In Frankly Friday

Take back what’s yours

They pulled you in.

They promised a prize.

It took you a while to see it wasn’t worth the price.

Take back what’s yours.

The race you’ve been running has you coasting on fumes.

You don’t have the gas in your tank to do the things that make you “you.”

Your important people haven’t seen the best of you in a while.

Take back what’s yours.

Polarization has stolen your hope.

Obligation and overcommitment have robbed your joy.

Slowly but surely, you’ve been lending away tiny pieces of your mind and soul, in return for temporary stimulation.

Take back what’s yours.

The world gladly takes, because it is empty and scared too.

But there is a better life that was created for me and you. And for the most part, all we have to do is choose it.

It’s Saturday now. Less things demand your attention. And a few simple decisions to say “no” today will have you closer in touch with the peace, hope, joy, wonder, adventure, leisure, and laughter that has been amiss lately.

Take back what’s yours, my friend.

And never give it back to the world again.

Cheers.
