In Frankly Friday

3am.

12 bags.

Four sleepy faces.

One late airplane.

No one would blame this tired mama for stopping to rest for the big day ahead.

But instead, she took the opportunity to do what she does every single day; pour more into her kids.

She is stunning. She is magic. She is the biggest blessing in our lives.

But she wouldn’t chalk it up to anything special.

Because it’s what she was born to do.

She doesn’t know I snapped this picture, but in an instant so many things became clear to me at Terminal A, Gate 37.

We make life so much harder than it has to be, because we agree to do things we weren’t born to do.

  • We worry
  • We chase shiny things
  • We compromise our convictions
  • We consume poison
  • We fill our minds with noise

It should be no wonder that we often walk around never quite at peace.

It’s because we’re out of alignment, my friend.

We’re often out of alignment with who we were designed to be, and who we secretly know we are supposed to be.

And we do it to ourselves.

The not-so-secret solution is as natural as a bird singing a song, a dog wagging his tail, or this mom reading her kids a book.

Do what you were born to do. Let all of the rest fade away.

The people and things trying to convince you that your calling is too big, or not big enough…

The distractions that are slowing you down…

Tell them no.

Let them go.

They will never take you where you’re supposed to grow.

Like a key unlocking a door, you’ll freely step into your purpose making everyone else wonder.

“How do you do that?”

You can smile and say… It’s what I was born to do.

Cheers.
